Welcome to your The Kernewek Lowender

The Kernewek Lowender (Cornish Festival) is a festival full of entertainment, activities and fun for young and old. It is a must-see festival.

The Kernewek Lowender was established in 1973 to revive the Cornish traditions of the Copper Coast towns of Kadina, Moonta and Wallaroo. The first festival attracting some 12,000 people; little did the organisers or patrons realise that their attendance would have far reaching ramifications and establish a premier festival of state and international importance that has endured 38 years.

The Kernewek Lowender continues to grow and develop while keeping the objective to revive the traditions of the Cornish Heritagewhich exists here in Australia's Little Cornwall. Pasties, Furry Dance, Heritage Church Service, Gorsedd Ceremony, Swanky Beer, Art Prizes, Musical Concerts and Cavalcade of Cars and Motor Cycles are retained as unique festival attractions - creating a "Happy Cornish" amotsphere.
